“From allowing a staggering $32.6 billion in unemployment insurance fraud to occur on her watch to championing and aggressively enforcing AB 5 to destroy as many California livelihoods as possible, Julie Su has repeatedly disqualified herself from leading the U.S. Labor Department. Today, I led colleagues from across the country in sharing how a Su-led Labor Department will put the livelihoods of our constituents at risk. I urge the U.S. Senate to join the growing coalition of small businesses, independent contractors, and American workers in opposing Su’s nomination.” – Congressman Kevin Kiley (R-Calif.)

“Su’s abysmal track record makes her wholly unqualified to head the U.S. Department of Labor. Under her tenure, California’s Labor and Workforce Development Agency failed millions of the State’s residents, squandered billions of taxpayer dollars, and crushed tens of thousands of livelihoods by pushing the disastrous AB 5 policy. I commend Congressman Kiley for his efforts to bring national awareness to her proven failures in California, and his commitment to protecting America’s workforce.” – House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.)

“Julie Su is not fit to serve as Labor Secretary, and her promotion of policies that undermine independent workers clearly shows that the Biden Administration is not on the side of hardworking Americans. Her record alone of mismanaging taxpayer dollars by allowing over $32 billion in fraudulent unemployment benefits should be disqualifying. Joe Biden’s choice for Labor Secretary shows he values purely partisan activism over hardworking Americans, and I adamantly oppose this nomination.” – House Republican Conference Chair Elise Stefanik (R-N.Y.)

“Su’s history of mismanagement as California’s Secretary of Labor and as Deputy Secretary of Labor makes her unfit to serve America’s workforce. Her nomination is a part of a larger effort by President Biden and the Left to vilify America’s workforce and place anti-worker bureaucrats in positions of power.” – Education and the Workforce Committee Chairwoman Virginia Foxx (R-N.C.)

“The misguided policies executed in California under Ms. Su when she was Secretary of Labor and Workforce Development there do not reflect the needs or the wishes of the East Texans that I represent, nor Americans as a whole.” – Congressman Nathan Moran (R-Texas)

“On Su’s watch, over $31 billion of California COVID funds were delivered to the bank accounts of fraudsters. At the same time, delays and red tape plagued legitimate COVID relief claims. I call on the White House to withdraw Julie Su from the confirmation process for Secretary of Labor and prioritize America’s families, the workforce and economic growth.” – Congressman Burgess Owens (R-Utah)

“Ms. Su oversaw and distributed about $32.6 billion in fraudulent unemployment claims paid out to death row inmates, international criminal syndicates and other fraudsters. Su also denied or delayed another five million legitimate unemployment insurance claims. She was also an architect and key enforcer of a California law that effectively outlaws freelance work in California. I urge my colleagues in the U.S. Senate to stand with American workers, to stand for American prosperity, and to stand for a better nominee for the Department of Labor.” – Congressman Rich McCormick (R-Ga.)

“Julie Su has already auditioned for the job as Secretary of Labor, failing miserably and proving beyond a reasonable doubt that she is unfit for the position. Her D.O.L. has undercut independent contractors to make the federal government more like California. All Senators who value small businesses and workers’ rights should oppose her nomination.”– Congressman Bob Good (R-Va.)

“Thank you, Congressman Kiley, for hosting this special order to oppose Deputy Secretary Su as the next Secretary of Labor. Under Joe Biden’s leadership the federal government has been weaponized to go after American workers, causing permanent damage to small businesses and the lives of working Americans.” – Congresswoman Mary Miller (R-Ill.)
